Firstly;

Do I need a Visa to Travel to Sri Lanka?

It depends. If you're from Singapore, Maldives, Seychelles and The Czech Republic, you are exempted from getting the standard 6-month eVisa for Sri Lanka. Other travellers need a visa or eVisa to enter Sri Lanka. The requirements vary depending on your nationality.

If you're a French national, you must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before travelling to Sri Lanka. The ETA allows for a stay of up to 60 days, which can be extended up to 180 days after arrival.

Sri Lanka Visa for British:

British citizens also need an ETA to enter the island which is like an eVisa. An eVisa should take about 24 hours to get approved. You can stay for up to 30 days with the possibility of an extension.

The visa process is straightforward and can be completed online. Ensure you apply at least a few days before your departure to avoid any last-minute issues.

Once your eVisa application is submitted and payment is confirmed, you will receive an acknowledgement receipt along with a unique application reference number. You can then track the status of your eVisa application online using this reference number.

Before you start your trip, print your eVisa to present to the Immigration officer at the port of entry in Sri Lanka. While your information is recorded already, having the physical document will speed up the process.
